Production & Shipping Update
Hello Backers,
We are getting close to shipping out your Golchi. Yay! Our team has been working long hours and monitoring each and every step on the assembly line to ensure that there are no further delays and quality is maintained.
Entire Golchi team has been overwhelmed by the comments and messages that we have received after our last update regarding the change in top lid. We understand that quiet a few backers are not happy about the new design and would like us to retain the sipper functionality in the top lid. As mentioned in our update, we have worked for months on the sipper design and have not been able to make the lid leakproof as the Golchi is invertible and it makes it challenging to make the sipper leak proof. It was a difficult decision for us to do away with the sipper on the top lid but ensuring leak proofing was our priority. However, we are still committed to design a lid for the top compartment that provides the functionality of single handed operation.
At this point we would like to continue with shipping out your Golchi with the new top lid so that we can meet our October shipping timeline. We also assure you that our design and manufacturing team will work on a new top lid that will include single handed operation. This lid will be available as an accessory with the Golchi in a few months. As you are our founding family members we will offer this new lid on highly discounted prices to you before it is made available for retail sales. Once all the rewards have been shipped out, we will start working on designing this additional lid and keep sharing updates with you.
Production Completed:
We have completed the production of all parts of your Golchi and more than 50% of the order quantity has been assembled and is ready to ship out. Below are some of the latest images from the factory:

Production Update #15
Hello Backers,
We are back with another update on our production progress.
Middle Compartment: Production for the middle compartment in all different colors has been completed. We are now getting the logo screen printing completed on all the pieces. Below are images of some of the completed pieces from the factory:
Bottom lid: We have started the production of bottom lid last week and we expect to complete the same by middle of this week. Below are some initial images from the factory:
Steel parts: Colouring for almost 50% of the production quantity has been completed. Below are some of the images that we received from the factory.
We are now preparing new screens for pattern printing in order to achieve correct position. The new screens will be prepared by end of this week.
Update on top lid:
Our team has been continuously working on testing and ensuring that both the top and bottom lids are absolutely leakproof. The leak proofing for bottom lid has been achieved but there have been a few challenges with the top lid. After making multiple iterations we have produced the top lid as shared in our campaign. During the testing, we have identified cases of leakage when carrying hot beverages and when the bottle is in inverted position. Additionally, we have some other concerns such as sharp internal edges, assembly of too many parts to get the design working, etc.
As leak proofing is our top priority, our team has come up with a solution which allows us to retain all the functionalities of the top lid except the sipper. With this modification, we will continue to have the collapsible handle, temperature marker etc and also make the lid absolutely leakproof. Below are some of the images of the new top lid that the team has designed.
Moulds for this updated design have already been prepared and production has started as we wanted to introduce this updated lid for our retail orders. As leak proofing continues to be a concern with the original top lid we would like to use this updated top lid for our crowdfunding orders as well.
We will appreciate if you evaluate this design with an open mind. This slightly modified top lid is completely leak proof even in severe stress conditions. The lid has no complications in assembly and is much more durable. The height of the top lid as per the updated design is same as the height of the bottom lid so this further enhances the aesthetics of the bottle.

Production Update #14
Hello Backers,
We are back with a quick update to share details from the factories as well as provide information on general progress.
Production of Steel Parts:
We are glad to share that this week we have completed the production of all the steel parts for your Golchi. The basic steel structures have been manufactured. We are through with welding and polishing of internal surfaces. Another round of quality audit was conducted at the factory to check vacuum insulation, quality of internal surface polishing, thread area, etc. We are very happy to share that the audit report is satisfactory and the auditors were happy with the quality that the manufacturer has provided.
Next steps in the production of steel parts will be colour coating as well as pattern printing wherever required. Once these steps have been completed we will conduct a third and final round of quality audit for the steel parts before they are sent to our plastic parts manufacturer for final assembly. Below are some of the images from the steel factory
Production of Plastic Parts:
1. Middle Compartment: As mentioned in our last update, the production for the middle compartment sliding door has been completed. We are currently producing the middle compartment in different colours as per the order quantities. Below are images of the mould installed on the machines to produce the middle compartment
2. Tea Infuser: We are sharing images of preliminary prototypes of the tea infuser. The moulds required few changes to achieve complete functionality/aesthetics of the tea infuser. The changes have now been completed and we will be completing production of the entire order quantity of the tea infuser by mid of this week. The final step is to assemble the parts together. We will share more images of finally assembled products in our next update
Shipping Timeline:
Our production activities have been progressing well. We are expecting the products to be ready for shipment to our warehouses by third week of September. Our warehouses will require a weeks time to manage the inventory and prepare for individual shipments.
We expect to start shipping individual backer rewards by early October. We will keep our surveys open for address updation till third week of September. A reminder emails will be sent out before the surveys are being locked for any further address change requests.

Production Update #13
Hello Backers,
We are back with another update on our production progress and behind the scene action.
Production status:
1. Middle compartment: As mentioned in our last update, we have finalised the moulds for all the parts of the middle compartment. The sliding door for the middle compartment has been produced and below are some of the pictures. We will soon start producing other parts of the middle compartment.
2. Screen printing guides: The screen printing guides for both the logos on the middle compartment and the red and blue colour for temperature marker rings for both the lids have been prepared. We have also completed testing for the screen printing. Logos have been printed on all the sliding doors for the middle compartment as well.
3. Steel parts: Samples for all the steel parts were approved early this month and the manufacturer has spent considerable time in finalising the moulds and preparing the same to start bulk production. The bulk production has started and things are progressing well. Our quality audit team has completed their first audit early this week and have assessed the quality of the moulds as well as the samples from the initial production batch. The audit was successful and we have had no issues raised with respect to quality. We have planned two more audits during the entire production run for the steel parts.
4. Plastic ring: Plastic rings in all six colours have been manufactured for the entire first order quantity. In the below image we have three colour rings.
5. Tea infuser: As promised in our last update, we are happy to share images of some initial samples of the tea infuser silicon. Mould for other parts are also ready and once the testing is complete we will share more images in our future updates.

Production Update #12
Hello Backers,
We are back with the details on our progress this last fortnight. It has been a very busy and action packed last two weeks with a lot of activities happening both at the steel and plastic factories. We have been able to bring almost all the moulds to completion and will now be testing the surface finish and preparing them to begin mass production on rolling basis. In this update we are sharing the production activities completed in last two weeks and our plan for the next two weeks.
Production status:
1. Collapsible Handle: We have completed the mass production for the collapsible handles for the entire production quantity. Below are some of the images from the factory:
2. Bottom Lid Flap: We have also completed the mass production for Bottom lid flap with the latch. Before starting the production we had conducted multiple strength tests for the bottom lid latch to check its durability. Below is a video of one of the strength tests as well as some images from the factory:
3. Temperature Marker: The temperature marker pieces for both the top and bottom lid have also been produced for the entire order quantity.
4. Magnet selection for Bottom Lid: As you are aware the Bottom lid has magnets on the top to hold the Flap in the 180 degree position for ease of drinking. This week we are able to identify magnets of right intensity and dimension and procure the same for the entire production quantity.
5. Steel samples approved: We have made a lot of progress with the steel parts this fortnight. The manufacturer developed 150 samples for both top and bottom cups that have undergone following tests:
- Insulation testing with hot water, cold water and ice
- Anti-rusting test using salt water
- Surface finish test

Plan for coming weeks:
In the next two weeks we plan to achieve the following:
1. We plan to complete the production of all the steel parts for the entire order quantity in the coming fortnight
2. The Middle compartment moulds are being finalised and we will be completing the production of all the parts
3. Develop guides for screen printing of logos as well as temperature marker colours. This is a time consuming activity and requires a lot of specific details
4. The Tea infuser moulds have been developed and we will now be working on the surface finish and other details
